Overview
Sini San Jiajian Granules (四逆散加减颗粒模拟剂) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation based on the classical prescription "Sini San" (四逆散), with modifications ("Jiajian" 加减) to tailor the formula for specific clinical presentations. The original Sini San consists of Bupleurum root (Chai Hu), Licorice root (Gan Cao), Bitter Orange fruit (Zhi Shi), and White Peony root (Bai Shao). The "Jiajian" modification means additional herbs may be included or some ingredients adjusted according to patient needs. This granule formulation is used primarily for conditions associated with liver qi stagnation and spleen deficiency, such as gastrointestinal disorders, mood disturbances like depression or irritability, and certain inflammatory conditions. Mechanistic studies suggest that it may modulate neurotransmitter systems including serotonin pathways, neurotrophic factors like BDNF/TrkB signaling, and regulate the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis[2][9].
