Sinovac's ACYW135 Meningococcal Conjugate Vaccine is an investigational quadrivalent vaccine developed by Sinovac Biotech to prevent invasive meningococcal disease (epidemic meningitis) caused by *Neisseria meningitidis* serogroups A, C, W-135, and Y. The vaccine utilizes capsular polysaccharides from each of the four serogroups, which are individually conjugated to a carrier protein to enhance immunogenicity and induce a T-cell dependent immune response. This conjugation is particularly critical for providing effective protection in infants and young children, who typically exhibit poor immune responses to plain polysaccharide vaccines. By stimulating the production of serogroup-specific bactericidal antibodies, the vaccine aims to provide broad protection against the major causes of bacterial meningitis and sepsis. It is currently in Phase 3 clinical development, where it is being evaluated for safety and non-inferior immunogenicity compared to established quadrivalent conjugate vaccines.
