Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The Sinovac trivalent MDCK influenza vaccine (also known as cell-based trivalent split influenza virus vaccine or cTIV) is an investigational, cell culture-derived inactivated split-virion vaccine developed by Sinovac for the prevention of seasonal influenza. Unlike traditional egg-based influenza vaccines, this vaccine is produced using Madin-Darby Canine Kidney (MDCK) cell culture technology, which avoids egg-related allergen residues, reduces the risk of egg-adaptive viral mutations, and allows for more rapid and scalable manufacturing. The vaccine is designed to target three seasonal influenza virus strains (typically two influenza A subtypes and one influenza B lineage). It is currently in Phase I clinical development in China to evaluate its safety and immunogenicity in participants aged 6 months and older.
