Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sinovial HL is an intra-articular injectable solution containing a stable hybrid complex of high-molecular-weight (H-HA) and low-molecular-weight (L-HA) sodium hyaluronate. Developed by IBSA using the proprietary NAHYCO thermal technology, the formulation creates cooperative hybrid complexes without the use of chemical cross-linking agents, allowing for a high concentration of hyaluronic acid (64 mg per 2 ml) with a viscosity profile that facilitates easy injection. It is primarily indicated as a viscosupplement for the treatment of pain and reduced mobility associated with degenerative or traumatic joint pathologies, such as osteoarthritis. Beyond its mechanical role in restoring the viscoelasticity of synovial fluid and providing lubrication, the hybrid complexes in Sinovial HL interact with cellular receptors like CD44 to modulate inflammatory pathways and promote the health of the joint environment.
