This combination regimen is a multi-modal neoadjuvant therapy being evaluated for the treatment of resectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) with high-risk recurrence factors. It consists of the PD-1 inhibitor sintilimab, the VEGF-targeting monoclonal antibody bevacizumab, the FOLFOX chemotherapy regimen (oxaliplatin, leucovorin, and 5-fluorouracil) administered via hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy (HAIC), and conventional transarterial chemoembolization (cTACE). The regimen is designed to downstage tumors and reduce the risk of post-surgical recurrence by combining systemic immunotherapy and targeted therapy with localized chemoembolization and infusion chemotherapy. The localized components (HAIC and TACE) aim to induce tumor necrosis and release tumor-associated antigens, potentially enhancing the systemic immune response triggered by sintilimab.
