Overview

This is a combination regimen consisting of two immune checkpoint inhibitors—sintilimab and pembrolizumab—and two synthetic progestins—medroxyprogesterone acetate and megestrol acetate. Sintilimab and pembrolizumab are monoclonal antibodies that target the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) receptor on T cells, blocking its interaction with PD-L1/PD-L2 ligands to enhance anti-tumor immune responses. Medroxyprogesterone acetate and megestrol acetate are synthetic derivatives of progesterone, commonly used as hormonal therapies in oncology for their antineoplastic effects, particularly in hormone-sensitive cancers such as endometrial carcinoma. This combination would theoretically provide both immunotherapeutic (checkpoint inhibition) and hormonal therapy mechanisms.
