Overview
This experimental combination regimen consists of the PD-1 inhibitor sintilimab, platinum-based doublet chemotherapy (cisplatin or carboplatin combined with either paclitaxel or pemetrexed), and adaptive radiotherapy. It is being investigated as a first-line treatment for patients with stage III non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Sintilimab is a humanized monoclonal antibody that blocks the interaction between PD-1 and its ligands (PD-L1 and PD-L2), thereby restoring T-cell antitumor activity. The addition of chemotherapy and radiotherapy is intended to enhance the immune response through immunogenic cell death and local tumor control. The regimen is currently being evaluated in a Phase 2 clinical trial sponsored by The Third Xiangya Hospital of Central South University.
