Overview

siPFKFB4 is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) targeting PFKFB4 (6-phosphofructo-2-kinase/fructose-2,6-biphosphatase 4), an enzyme that regulates glycolysis and the pentose phosphate pathway (PPP) in cancer cells. By silencing PFKFB4 expression, siPFKFB4 disrupts glucose metabolic reprogramming critical for tumor proliferation and survival. Experimental studies demonstrate that PFKFB4 knockdown via siPFKFB4 inhibits cancer cell proliferation, invasion, and glycolysis, increases apoptosis, and impairs tumor progression in several cancers, including endometrial and breast cancer[3][5][7]. siPFKFB4 has been investigated mainly in preclinical research as a genetic tool, rather than as a clinical drug; it is not approved for therapeutic use.
