SiPore15 is an orally administered, non-absorbed medical device developed by Sigrid Therapeutics for the management of prediabetes and newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes. It consists of micron-sized, engineered mesoporous silica particles that act locally in the gut to physically entrap a fraction of digestive enzymes, thereby slowing the breakdown and absorption of carbohydrates and fats. This mechanism leads to reduced postprandial glucose spikes, more gradual energy release from food, and lower caloric absorption. SiPore15 has demonstrated clinically meaningful reductions in long-term blood glucose (HbA1c) with minimal side effects in clinical studies. Unlike pharmaceuticals, it does not enter the bloodstream and is well tolerated[4][5][6][7].
