Overview

**SIPS-2209-1** is an oral fixed-dose combination tablet of the antidiabetic small molecules sitagliptin and pioglitazone. Sitagliptin inhibits dipeptidyl peptidase-4, increasing endogenous incretin activity and glucose-dependent insulin secretion, while pioglitazone activates peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma to improve insulin sensitivity. Samik Pharmaceutical evaluated SIPS-2209-1 in a Phase 1 fasting-condition bioequivalence study in healthy Korean volunteers against concomitant administration of the individual-component products SIPS-2209-2 and SIPS-2209-3.
