Drug intelligence / Profile preview
siPSMA-14 is a silicon-based, peptide-like radiopharmaceutical precursor designed to target prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA), also known as glutamate carboxypeptidase II. Developed by researchers at the Technical University of Munich and Ulm University Hospital, and distributed by Scintomics, siPSMA-14 incorporates a silicon-fluoride acceptor (SiFA) moiety that allows for rapid, simple, and scalable radiolabeling with fluorine-18 ([18F]) via isotopic exchange. The resulting radiotracer, [18F]siPSMA-14, is used in positron emission tomography (PET) imaging for the primary staging and restaging of prostate cancer, including the detection of biochemical recurrence. It exhibits high tumor accumulation, favorable biodistribution, and low urinary background activity, enabling high-contrast imaging without the need for forced diuresis.
