Overview

This is a combination immunization regimen consisting of three separate vaccines administered together or as a co-formulation for pediatric use: - sIPV (inactivated poliovirus vaccine, Salk strain): provides immunity against poliomyelitis by inducing antibodies to all three types of poliovirus. - DTaP (diphtheria, tetanus toxoid, and acellular pertussis): protects against diphtheria by neutralizing the diphtheria toxin; against tetanus by neutralizing the tetanospasmin toxin; and against pertussis through immune response to *Bordetella pertussis* antigens. - HepA (hepatitis A vaccine): induces immunity to hepatitis A virus infection via inactivated viral antigen. These vaccines are commonly administered as part of routine childhood immunization schedules. The mechanism of action for each component is induction of active immunity via antigen presentation leading to antibody production specific for each pathogen or toxin. These vaccines are typically developed and manufactured by major global pharmaceutical companies specializing in pediatric vaccines.
