SIR-T ROR1 is a preclinical-stage cell therapy being developed by Angeles Therapeutics for the treatment of ROR1-expressing cancers. The therapy utilizes the company's proprietary Synthetic Intramembrane Receptor (SIR-T) platform, which involves engineering T cells with a novel receptor architecture designed to recognize the Receptor Tyrosine Kinase-Like Orphan Receptor 1 (ROR1). Unlike traditional Chimeric Antigen Receptors (CARs), the SIR-T platform aims to provide more physiological signaling to the T cell, potentially improving persistence and efficacy in the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. ROR1 is an oncofetal antigen frequently overexpressed in various solid tumors and hematological malignancies, while remaining largely absent in healthy adult tissues.
