The SIRC combined mRNA vaccine (8-valent) is a multivalent mRNA-based vaccine candidate developed by the National Institute of Diagnostics and Vaccine Development in Infectious Diseases (Xiamen University). It is designed to provide broad protection against three major respiratory pathogens: SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19), influenza viruses, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). The vaccine encodes eight distinct antigens: three variants of the SARS-CoV-2 receptor-binding domain (RBD), four influenza hemagglutinin (HA) proteins (targeting H1N1, H3N2, B/Victoria, and B/Yamagata lineages), and the RSV prefusion F (pre-F) protein. By utilizing mRNA technology, the vaccine aims to induce robust humoral and cellular immune responses against these diverse viral targets simultaneously. It is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
