siRhoB-2 is a specific small interfering RNA (siRNA) sequence designed to target and silence the expression of the RhoB (Ras homolog family member B) gene. RhoB is a member of the Rho GTPase family that plays a complex role in cell signaling, often implicated in the malignant progression of various cancers, including cervical cancer. By facilitating the degradation of RhoB mRNA, siRhoB-2 effectively reduces RhoB protein levels, which has been shown in preclinical models to inhibit cancer cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. Additionally, silencing RhoB with siRhoB-2 appears to reverse epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) markers and significantly enhance the sensitivity of cancer cells to cisplatin-induced apoptosis, making it a potential therapeutic tool or target for overcoming chemoresistance.
