Overview

siRNA (DLL3) refers to small interfering RNA molecules designed to specifically target and silence the expression of Delta-like protein 3 (DLL3). DLL3 is a Notch pathway ligand that is highly upregulated in small cell lung cancer (SCLC) and other neuroendocrine tumors, where it is thought to inhibit Notch signaling and promote tumorigenesis. By utilizing the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway, these siRNA molecules induce the degradation of DLL3 mRNA, thereby reducing DLL3 protein levels. Preclinical research has demonstrated that knockdown of DLL3 in SCLC cell lines leads to inhibited cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, potentially through the modulation of Notch1 signaling and the downregulation of the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) marker Snail.
