Overview

siRNA against c-Myc refers to a class of small interfering RNA molecules designed to silence the expression of the c-Myc (MYC) oncogene through the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway. c-Myc is a potent transcription factor that regulates a vast array of genes involved in cell proliferation, metabolism, and apoptosis, and its dysregulation is a hallmark of many human cancers. In research contexts, such as the study of radiation-induced cellular senescence, c-Myc siRNA is utilized to investigate the molecular mechanisms of oncogene-induced senescence (OIS) and bystander effects. By degrading c-Myc mRNA, these siRNAs prevent the translation of the c-Myc protein, thereby inhibiting its transcriptional activity and downstream biological effects.
