Overview

siRNA-CD164 is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed as a molecular-targeted therapy for breast cancer. It functions by silencing the expression of the CD164 gene, which is highly expressed in breast cancer tissues and correlates with poorer prognosis. The mechanism involves RNA interference, where the siRNA molecule targets and degrades the messenger RNA (mRNA) of CD164, thereby preventing the production of the CD164 protein. This inhibition of CD164 has been shown to suppress breast cancer cell viability and proliferation, induce cell cycle arrest, and promote apoptosis, suggesting its potential to influence tumor growth, immune evasion, and therapeutic response.
