siRNA-LINC01518 is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to specifically target and silence the expression of the long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) LINC01518. In various malignancies, particularly prostate cancer, LINC01518 acts as an oncogenic driver by functioning as a competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA), sponging tumor-suppressive microRNAs such as miR-320a. This interaction leads to the upregulation of downstream targets like CNKSR2, which promotes tumor cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. By utilizing the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway, siRNA-LINC01518 facilitates the sequence-specific degradation of LINC01518 transcripts, thereby suppressing the progression of castration-resistant prostate cancer and other malignancies. It is currently being investigated in preclinical models as a potential therapeutic agent to inhibit tumor growth and improve prognosis.
