siRNA MAPK13 is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to selectively silence the expression of Mitogen-activated protein kinase 13 (MAPK13), also known as p38 delta. MAPK13 is a member of the p38 MAPK family and has been identified as a key regulator of mucus production (specifically MUC5AC) and airway epithelial barrier integrity in the context of respiratory diseases like asthma. Research indicates that silencing MAPK13 can reduce mucus hypersecretion and impact transepithelial electrical resistance (TEER) in response to stimuli such as IL-13 and LPS. It is currently being investigated as a potential therapeutic target for asthma and other inflammatory airway diseases.
