Overview

siRNA RhoB refers to small interfering RNA molecules designed to specifically target and silence the expression of the Ras homolog family member B (RhoB) gene. RhoB is a small GTPase that functions as a molecular switch in various cellular processes, including actin cytoskeleton organization, vesicle trafficking, and cell survival. In oncology, RhoB is often characterized as a stress-induced protein that can influence tumor cell migration, apoptosis, and response to chemotherapy or radiation. The therapeutic use of siRNA RhoB involves the incorporation of the double-stranded RNA into the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC), leading to the sequence-specific cleavage of RhoB mRNA and subsequent reduction in RhoB protein levels. This approach is primarily investigated in preclinical models for its potential to sensitize tumors to treatment or inhibit metastatic progression.
