Drug intelligence / Profile preview
siRNA targeting abcb1b is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of the *abcb1b* gene, which encodes P-glycoprotein 1 (also known as multidrug resistance protein 1B or mini-P-glycoprotein in rodents). In research settings, such as studies on rat pancreatic islets, knockdown of *abcb1b* has been shown to significantly reduce biphasic insulin secretion and affect islet cell apoptosis pathways under high-glucose conditions. This siRNA is primarily utilized as a research-use-only laboratory tool to investigate the physiological roles of P-glycoprotein in cellular transport, insulin granule acidification, and multidrug resistance.
