Overview

siRNA targeting HYAL4 is a small interfering RNA designed to silence the expression of the hyaluronidase 4 (HYAL4) gene. HYAL4 is a member of the hyaluronidase family that degrades hyaluronic acid and has been identified as a tumor-derived enzyme specifically elevated in bladder cancer tissues and urine. In preclinical research, the use of siRNA to downregulate HYAL4 expression in bladder cancer cell lines (such as HT1376 and HT5637) has demonstrated a significant decrease in cell proliferation and an induction of apoptosis. This suggests that HYAL4 plays a role in tumor progression and could serve as both a diagnostic marker and a therapeutic target for bladder cancer.
