Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CMS-D008 is an investigational small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic developed by Hainan Kangzhe Weisheng Technology for the treatment of overweight and obesity. The drug utilizes RNA interference (RNAi) to specifically silence the expression of the **INHBE** (Inhibin subunit beta E) gene. INHBE is a member of the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) superfamily and is primarily expressed in the liver. Genetic studies have linked INHBE variants to metabolic regulation, suggesting that its downregulation is associated with improved fat distribution and protection against metabolic disorders such as type 2 diabetes. By reducing INHBE levels, CMS-D008 aims to modulate energy metabolism and promote weight loss. The program is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
