Overview

siRNA targeting uc.110 is an experimental RNA interference (RNAi) therapeutic designed to silence the expression of the transcribed ultra-conserved region (TUCR) uc.110. uc.110 is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) that is significantly upregulated in gliomas, particularly glioblastoma (GBM). Research conducted at the University of Virginia has characterized uc.110 as an oncogene that promotes tumor cell viability, accumulation, and invasion. In preclinical studies, siRNA-mediated knockdown of uc.110 resulted in reduced tumor volume and improved overall survival in animal models, highlighting its potential as a novel therapeutic target for malignant brain tumors.
