Overview
siRNA targeting YAP1 is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to selectively silence the expression of Yes-associated protein 1 (YAP1), a key transcriptional co-activator in the Hippo signaling pathway. YAP1 plays a critical role in regulating cell proliferation, tissue regeneration, fibrosis, and organ size, and its aberrant activation is implicated in various pathologies, including benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and multiple cancers. By targeting YAP1 mRNA for degradation, this siRNA suppresses YAP1 protein translation, thereby inhibiting downstream gene transcription, reversing cell proliferation and fibrosis, and promoting apoptosis in affected tissues.
