Sirona-02

Sirona-02 is an ingestible, hydrogel-based medical device or drug-device combination developed by Oxford Medical Products (OMP) specifically for weight maintenance. Administered as an oral capsule, the device expands upon reaching the stomach to occupy significant volume, thereby inducing a feeling of satiety through the mechanical stimulation of gastric stretch receptors. This physical mechanism is designed to help patients maintain weight loss achieved through previous interventions. The hydrogel is engineered to remain in the stomach for a controlled duration before safely degrading and passing through the gastrointestinal tract. Sirona-02 represents a specialized iteration of OMP's Sirona platform, distinct from Sirona-01 which is targeted at active weight loss in obesity.
