SIRT1 siRNA is a research-use small interfering RNA (siRNA) reagent designed to silence the expression of the SIRT1 gene (Sirtuin 1) via RNA interference (RNAi). SIRT1 is an NAD+-dependent protein deacetylase (class III histone deacetylase) that plays a critical role in regulating cellular processes such as apoptosis, senescence, glucose homeostasis, and aging. In various malignancies, including pancreatic adenocarcinoma, prostate cancer, and breast cancer, SIRT1 is frequently overexpressed and contributes to tumor progression by repressing tumor suppressor genes. Knockdown of SIRT1 using specific siRNA duplexes has been shown in preclinical research to induce growth arrest and apoptosis in cancer cell lines. This reagent is primarily utilized as a laboratory tool for functional genomics and is not currently developed as a proprietary clinical therapeutic asset.
