SIRT6-mRNA.018 is an mRNA-based therapeutic developed by SirtLab, designed to transiently increase the expression and activity of the SIRT6 protein. SIRT6 is a member of the sirtuin family of NAD+-dependent deacetylases, known for its roles in DNA repair, metabolic regulation, and longevity. The drug utilizes a lipid nanoparticle (LNP) delivery system to transport SIRT6-encoding mRNA into cells. It is currently in IND-enabling studies, with primary development focuses on post-surgical recovery (resilience and function) and longevity in adults aged 50 and above. Potential broad applications include metabolic and cardiovascular conditions such as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), type 2 diabetes, and metabolic syndrome.
