Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SIRT6c is a gene therapy based on a naturally occurring human sirtuin 6 (SIRT6) variant (containing two point mutations, N308K and A313S) identified in centenarians. This variant exhibits enhanced mono-ADP-ribosyltransferase activity, improved DNA double-strand break repair, and superior genomic stability compared to wild-type SIRT6. Developed by Genflow Biosciences, SIRT6c is being evaluated across multiple modalities, including plasmid DNA (pDNA) and adeno-associated virus (AAV8) vectors for veterinary applications (such as sarcopenia and longevity in aged dogs), and mRNA-lipid nanoparticle (mRNA-LNP) formulations for human indications, including metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) and ophthalmology (such as glaucoma).
