Overview

siSphK1 is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to target and silence the expression of sphingosine kinase 1 (SphK1). SphK1 is a key enzyme that phosphorylates sphingosine to form sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P), a bioactive lipid mediator that promotes cell survival, proliferation, migration, and angiogenesis. By knocking down SphK1 expression, siSphK1 reduces S1P levels and inhibits downstream signaling pathways such as Akt/mTOR, thereby suppressing cancer cell growth and promoting apoptosis. It is widely utilized as a research-use-only reagent in preclinical studies across various cancers, including breast, prostate, ovarian, and colorectal cancers.
