Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sitopaladi churna is a traditional polyherbal Ayurvedic formulation widely used in South Asia for the management of respiratory and allergic conditions. The formulation typically comprises five ingredients: *Saccharum officinarum* (sugar candy), *Bambusa bambos* (inner pith of bamboo), *Piper longum* (long pepper), *Elettaria cardamomum* (cardamom), and *Cinnamomum zeylanicum* (cinnamon). It is primarily indicated for cough, bronchitis, pneumonia, and congestion, acting through mast cell stabilization, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant mechanisms. Clinical research has also explored its efficacy in treating nutritional anemia (often in combination with Sootshekhar Rasa) and as part of a protocol for migraine without aura. It is recognized for its safety profile and is a staple in Ayurvedic clinical practice.
