Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Six-flavored emollient oil (Liuwei Runfu You) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) hospital preparation developed by Beijing Children's Hospital. It is a topical formulation primarily used in pediatric dermatology for the treatment of conditions such as eczema, diaper rash, and neonatal dermatitis. The oil is typically composed of six herbal ingredients, including *Lithospermum erythrorhizon* (Zicao), *Angelica sinensis* (Danggui), *Saposhnikovia divaricata* (Fangfeng), *Scutellaria baicalensis* (Huangqin), *Sophora flavescens* (Kushen), and *Dictamnus dasycarpus* (Baixianpi), which are infused in a base oil such as sesame oil. It functions as an anti-inflammatory and emollient agent, helping to soothe irritated skin, reduce erythema, and promote the repair of the epidermal barrier without the use of corticosteroids.
