Sixtide

Sixtide is a therapeutic platform developed by Sepsia Therapeutics for the treatment of sepsis and related conditions, including septic shock and multi-organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS). The platform encompasses multiple modalities: scavenger-receptor-derived peptides and proteins, scavenger-based Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy, and an extracorporeal hemadsorption medical device. The primary mechanism of action involves the binding and sequestration of Pathogen-Associated Molecular Patterns (PAMPs) derived from bacterial and fungal cell walls. By neutralizing these PAMPs or removing them from circulation, Sixtide aims to reduce systemic inflammation and combat infections caused by multidrug-resistant pathogens. The CAR T-cell component specifically targets PAMP-bearing pathogens or associated structures to provide an adoptive cell therapy approach to infection.
