Overview

SJP-003 is a small molecule combination drug developed by Sen-Jam Pharmaceutical, consisting of 220 mg naproxen sodium and 60 mg fexofenadine hydrochloride. It is designed to prevent or reduce side effects associated with vaccinations, such as those for influenza or travel. The mechanism of action involves the inhibition of cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) by naproxen to reduce inflammation and pain, combined with the stabilization of mast cells and antagonism of histamine H1 receptors by fexofenadine. By administering the drug at the time of vaccination, it aims to mitigate the systemic inflammatory response that often leads to vaccine hesitancy and improves overall willingness to vaccinate.
