SK-VAV1-CNS is a discovery-stage drug candidate being developed by SK Biopharmaceuticals for the treatment of central nervous system (CNS) disorders. The program focuses on the inhibition of Vav guanine nucleotide exchange factor 1 (VAV1), a key signaling protein primarily expressed in hematopoietic cells, including T-cells and microglia within the CNS. VAV1 plays a critical role in immune cell activation, migration, and the production of inflammatory cytokines. By targeting VAV1, the therapy aims to modulate neuroinflammatory pathways and suppress pathological immune responses that contribute to neurodegenerative and neuroinflammatory conditions, such as multiple sclerosis. The project is currently in the early discovery or preclinical phase of development.
