Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SK10 is an innovative, heat-killed *Bacteroides fragilis* product developed by Zhiyi Biotech for the treatment and prevention of chemotherapy-induced diarrhea (CID). As an inactivated live biotherapeutic product (LBP), SK10 is designed to mitigate intestinal mucosal damage and epithelial cell apoptosis caused by cytotoxic chemotherapies (such as fluorouracil and irinotecan) and targeted therapies (such as tyrosine kinase inhibitors). By using a heat-killed bacterial strain, the product aims to offer a superior safety profile, particularly for immunocompromised cancer patients, compared to live bacterial products. Zhiyi Biotech has completed a Phase 1 clinical trial in the U.S. demonstrating the safety and tolerability of SK10 in healthy adult subjects.
