Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SK1808 is a long-acting naltrexone hydrochloride implant developed by Shenzhen Sciencare Pharmaceutical for the treatment of opioid use disorder (OUD). Naltrexone is a potent opioid antagonist that competitively binds to mu-opioid receptors in the central nervous system, effectively blocking the euphoric and physiological effects of exogenous opioids. This specific formulation is designed as a long-term drug delivery system to provide sustained therapeutic levels of naltrexone over an extended period, aiming to improve patient compliance and prevent relapse in individuals who have undergone detoxification. SK1808 is currently in Phase 1 clinical development in China.
