SKB394 is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy targeting the B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA), a protein highly expressed on the surface of malignant plasma cells in multiple myeloma. Developed by The Affiliated Cancer Hospital of Zhengzhou University, SKB394 involves the genetic modification of a patient's own T cells to express a CAR that recognizes and binds to BCMA, leading to the targeted destruction of myeloma cells. It is primarily being investigated for the treatment of patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma who have failed standard therapies.
