Overview

Skf 107457 is an experimental small molecule HIV protease type 1 inhibitor. It is a hexapeptide substrate analog in which the scissile bond has been replaced by a hydroxyethylene isostere, making it resistant to enzymatic cleavage and allowing it to inhibit the activity of HIV protease. This mechanism blocks viral polyprotein processing, thereby interfering with viral maturation and replication. The compound has not been approved for clinical use and remains primarily a research tool in AIDS/HIV studies[1][2][3][4].
