Overview

SKP-1052 is a modified-release oral formulation of terbutaline developed to prevent hypoglycemia, particularly in individuals with diabetes. Unlike immediate-release terbutaline (IRT), SKP-1052 delays the release of terbutaline, resulting in a more gradual increase in blood glucose levels over several hours post-dose without causing fasting hyperglycemia. This pharmacokinetic profile aims to provide sustained protection against nocturnal or delayed-onset hypoglycemia by maintaining higher blood glucose levels during vulnerable periods[1][2].
