Overview

SL-1002 is a novel, proprietary chemoneurolytic injection developed by Saol Therapeutics. It utilizes the company's CYCLOPHLEX technology and is being investigated as a nerve-blocking agent for the treatment of limb spasticity and chronic pain associated with osteoarthritis of the knee in adults. The drug is administered as an injectable and has been evaluated in randomized, double-blind, vehicle/placebo-controlled clinical trials (RAISE Limb Spasticity Trial and COMPASS Osteoarthritis Knee Pain Trial) to assess its safety, pharmacokinetics, and efficacy. In phase II studies for both indications, SL-1002 demonstrated a favorable safety profile with no therapy-limiting adverse events reported. Its precise mechanism of action has not been publicly defined but it acts as a chemoneurolytic agent to block nerve activity involved in muscle spasticity or pain[1][3][4][5][6].
