SL-327 is a selective small molecule inhibitor of MEK1 and MEK2 (Mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 1/2), with IC50 values of 0.18 and 0.22 µM, respectively. It is brain-penetrant and is used mainly in preclinical research to inhibit the MAPK/ERK signaling pathway, especially in studies of learning, memory, and neuroprotection. SL-327 has demonstrated effects such as blocking long-term potentiation (LTP), inhibiting ERK activation in various brain regions, blocking fear conditioning and associative learning, modulating psychomotor sensitization, and producing neuroprotection in animal models. SL-327 is not an approved pharmaceutical for any human condition and is used primarily as a laboratory research tool for studying MAPK/ERK pathway function[1][3][5][7].
