Overview

**SLA-SE** is an investigational vaccine adjuvant developed by Access to Advanced Health Institute. It consists of synthetic hexa-acylated monophosphoryl lipid A, a synthetic Toll-like receptor 4 agonist, formulated in a squalene-based oil-in-water stable emulsion. By activating innate immune signaling through Toll-like receptor 4, SLA-SE is designed to enhance antigen presentation and promote robust, Th1-biased cellular and humoral immune responses to co-administered vaccine antigens. The formulation has been evaluated clinically in adjuvanted vaccine candidates, including a Phase 1 leishmaniasis vaccine study and a Phase 2 herpes zoster vaccine program.
