Overview

SLC-500 is a preclinical-stage small molecule inhibitor of the RON (Recepteur d'Origine Nantais) receptor tyrosine kinase, also known as macrophage-stimulating protein receptor (MST1R). Developed by SignalChem Lifesciences (which was acquired by Sino Biological in 2024), SLC-500 targets the RON receptor, a member of the mesenchymal-to-epithelial transition (MET) family. The RON signaling pathway is frequently dysregulated in various cancers, where it promotes tumor cell proliferation, survival, and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT), contributing to tumor growth and metastasis. SLC-500 is currently being optimized for potency and selectivity to treat solid tumors by blocking these oncogenic signaling pathways.
