Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SLC022 is an orally administered small molecule drug developed as a glial cell modulator for the treatment of pain, specifically post-herpetic neuralgia. It was initially developed by Solace Pharmaceuticals. The drug acts by modulating glial cells, which play an active role in neuronal pain signaling and are considered a novel target for chronic pain management. SLC022 demonstrated efficacy in preclinical pain models and advanced to Phase 2 clinical trials for post-herpetic neuralgia but its development has since been discontinued.
