Overview

SLG-200 is a small molecule, new chemical entity (NCE) antibiotic being developed by Selagine for the topical treatment of bacterial keratitis and other ocular surface bacterial diseases. Designed specifically for ophthalmic-only administration, SLG-200 aims to provide high local potency while minimizing the risk of systemic resistance. It exhibits broad-spectrum activity against key susceptible and resistant Gram-positive and intracellular pathogens, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), penicillin-resistant Streptococcus pneumoniae (PRSP), coagulase-negative staphylococci (CoNS), Neisseria gonorrhoeae, and Chlamydia trachomatis. The drug is currently in Phase 1 clinical development.
