SLI-F06 is a synthetic, fibromodulin-based peptide developed to enhance wound healing and reduce cutaneous scarring. It acts as an anti-fibrotic agent by modulating collagen, promoting fibroblast migration, contraction, and collagen cross-linking. These actions accelerate the reestablishment of wound tensile strength while reducing fibrosis. Preclinical studies in animal models (mice, rats, pigs) have demonstrated its pro-migration, pro-tensile strength, and anti-fibrotic properties. Clinical trials have focused on improving scar appearance and wound healing following surgical excisions such as abdominoplasty. The drug is being developed primarily for the reduction of hypertrophic scars and improvement of post-surgical wound healing[1][2][3][4][5][6][7].
