Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SLITone Dermatophagoides mezcla (mixture) is a sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) allergen extract developed by ALK-Abelló. It is formulated as sublingual drops containing biological extracts of house dust mite (HDM) allergens, specifically a 50/50 mixture of *Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus* and *Dermatophagoides farinae*, the two most prevalent dust mite species. The therapy is designed to desensitize the immune system of patients suffering from house dust mite allergy, allergic asthma, and atopic dermatitis by targeting IgE-mediated allergic responses. Administered sublingually, it works by inducing immune tolerance through the development of blocking antibodies and regulatory T cells, thereby reducing allergic symptoms and the need for rescue medications over time.
