Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SLITone Dermatophagoides mix is a sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) product developed by ALK-Abelló for the treatment of house dust mite (HDM) allergic rhinitis and asthma. It consists of a standardized extract of the house dust mites *Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus* and *Dermatophagoides farinae*. The therapy works by exposing the patient to controlled amounts of these allergens sublingually, which induces peripheral T-cell tolerance and shifts the immune response from a pro-allergic Th2 profile toward a Th1 and regulatory T-cell (Treg) profile. This modulation reduces the production of allergen-specific IgE and increases protective IgG4 antibodies, thereby decreasing allergic inflammation and symptoms upon natural exposure to house dust mites.
